The former Speaker of the House of Representatives discusses challenges to American democracy and the importance of leadership in an election year.

As America gears up for the 2024 Presidential election, the importance of leadership in politics has come to the fore. As the Harris and Trump campaigns move towards election day, the heightened sense of strong leadership is central to the position of both candidates.

Following her first election to the House in 1987, Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi has been central to America political leadership for over two decades. Serving as the 52nd Speaker of the House of Representative, and the first female speaker, Speaker Pelosi rose to become one of the most powerful and consequential Speakers in American political history.

Following the release of her recent book The Art of Power, Speaker Pelosi will discuss how she became a master legislator, working with numerous presidents, her political legacy in the in the house and her leadership during a contentious time in U.S. politics.
