This event discusses the results and ramifications of the September 2021 Russian Duma elections.

The 2021 Duma elections are taking place as the Kremlin continues to push ahead with constitutional amendments amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and Alexey Navalny’s still potent capacities, while also navigating the tumultuous international environment.

This event, taking place shortly after the elections, will discuss how the Kremlin’s responses to these challenges will have been reflected in the results. More specifically, the panel will assess the political machinations prior and following the elections, the challenges of controlling the results, any unforeseen occurrences, regional variations and the key issues worrying voters across Russia and the wider political context.

This online event will be conducted with simultaneous translation and will be held under the Chatham House rule.
