Children treated for sunburn as UK bakes on year’s hottest weekend

Public health bodies issue warning as temperatures expected to hit 30C in Wales and southern England

Children have been treated in hospital for extreme sunburn as Britain experienced what was expected to be the hottest weekend of the year.

Temperatures were expected to reach 30C and beyond in parts of Wales and southern England again on Sunday as an area of high temperature over the UK maintained warm conditions.
